Call it Yin Yang or two sides to every coin, it is always wise to explore as many facets or perspectives as we can of all movements before we get tricked or mislead.
Did you ever wonder why Donald Trump was able to get such a strong following in such a short period of time and without a huge political machine.
Well maybe you should consider this as one of the reasons he has lifted the spirits of so many people so quickly and without a slick “cult of personality” marketing or public relations teams.
To include in my perspective the fact that one of the reasons I closed or quit a couple of businesses was the disruption caused by what seems to be a monarchical mindset government workforce whose attitude was “be obedient and guilty until proven innocent”.
Who sold the USA on being a predatory based society or beat down culture? Or it may be better to look at who benefits from such behaviors?
So that I don’t make the blindly obedient angry and to try and just to try and get you to pay attention as to why people are making hundreds of millions of dollars selling a mindset. I will use a metaphor to try and get you to consider this threat and its consequences.
Let’s Go Bowling!
On the sign at the front door is stated “Green bowling balls are the best and have been consistently rolled for centuries to deliver the highest degree of success and scores”.
After you enter the bowling area and have rented or put on your bowling shoes. There is another sign that says, “Due to state and federal laws, to be fair, you must bowl with red, blue, yellow, black or purple bowling balls. We do apologize for the lackluster results and if you don’t like it leave. We see nothing wrong with forced mediocrity.” Results…all bowlers have lower scores, total quality of life is lowered across the board.
I don’t think that affirmative action has had a negative effect on our nation, I do think it is being used by dishonest or lazy people to get results other than it’s original intention.
Sad but true, maybe it’s time to stop letting people sell us racism and sexism. Choice by size, color, heritage etc. rather than capabilities or experience. Because if you peel down the onion and as most people know because we all seem to get along fine with each other day to day, the ones selling it to us are really the only ones that are benefiting or maybe are the bigots. Or maybe they are really just charlatans looking for an unfair advantage.
Because as a person that has traveled around the USA and met thousands of people I have just never seen racist, biased, sectarian, intolerant, prejudiced, xenophobic, anti-Semitic, fanatic, partial, chauvinist, diehard, doctrinaire, anti-Semite, segregationist, illiberal, narrow-minded, opinionated, small-minded or xenophobe to the degree that the media trouble starters and makers sell us regularly.
Amazing that one politician spewing out what seemed to be absurdities resulted in the lifting up of an undeserved and displaced cloud of guilt from the shoulders of millions of peoples while at the same time exposing the glimmer of fairness and opening a dialogue for better more reasonable and rational dialogue of the issues.
Like it or not, the spirit of the USA was lifted by the rhetoric.
It has amazed me how many people of all races, genders, sizes and creeds have been thinking that political affirmative action may have become a divisive power tool used to strum up problems from the past in order to prevent us from seeing and dealing with the problems of today. Actually making them accessories to the abuses of power, authority and corruption that we desperately need to deal with in order to get the USA back on the rails of being a robust and just society again.
Sidebar, another interesting aspect is that just like not following through after the social revolution of the 1960’s here in the USA by helping people that are more reasonable, rational and objective than what we had. The followers of Saul Alinsky seem to be so full of themselves and their ability to cause disruption that too forget that they must follow through so that there is an actual positive result rather than just stirring things up and creating trouble.
Which, let’s not forget, none of which works unless we seek to live and operate with unblemished personal integrity.
