Another benefit of the Internet and the new business models that have resulted is a business model based on actually delivering a product or service.

50 or 70 years ago, because it was so much more expensive to start a business, businesses invented long term contracts so they could use the “paper”, the value of the contract, as collateral to expand the businesses.

Besides the collateral value they would also be able to sort of vet the prospective customer to make sure they were viable because the setup of the account and the business was also more expensive.

For instance the cell phone and account setup a company gave you when you signed up cost the company $1.000 and they demanded a long term contract to protect themselves.

Many companies built great companies on the resulting leverage.

But as time went on and Gordon Gekko got on stage and taught us that the mental illness “GREED” was good.

And a US president signed an executive order 12803, the sale of taxpayer owned properties and infrastructure to private individuals without the taxpayers knowledge.

Evidently government and much of big business took on a new role.

When the cost to the company of a new account dropped 95 or even 99%, the companies continued demanding long term contracts that DID NOT demand that products or services be delivered at all.

50 years ago a company could argue in court and prove upfront costs. Now they have little or no upfront costs and we are their prey. Government approved! If you sign you lose.

If you go to the court of lawyers you will be forced to pay whether the services were delivered or not.

Meaning that the US public became prey of many in the government, big business and Wall Street.

So buyer beware and if the company or seller is demanding that you sign any long term contract, think again because there is probably a fresh new company out there that does not demand you attach you and your families future to do business with them.

Because as technology, medicine and many other areas advance the money grubbers and their new casino called Wall Street continues to sabotage and drives us downward. How did Jesus know?
