How the trouble started.
One day many hundreds of years ago. There was only one village on our planet.
It had 20 members, 6 men, 6 women and 8 children.
Every single day was filled with happy and enjoyable times. Everyone spent their days and nights enjoying life, nature and each other.
The common chores of hunting food, picking berries, growing vegetables, building shelters and collecting water was rotated and shared equally.
There was never any trash because everything was cycled back into their cycles of life.
One of the males name was De, De was not the oldest nor the youngest, not the biggest nor the smallest. One of the biggest problems in their village was spots that would be left on their cloth or the children’s clothes after picking berries. Ruining the garment and making it undesirable for wear and enjoyment.
They never threw anything away so they would find other uses for the garments.
One day De was out looking for berries and fruit and came upon a bush he didn’t recognize. Being adventurous he decided to eat one of the smaller fruits from the bush.
In a few minutes his stomach began to hurt and he started getting sick so he went back to the village for help and to rest. Soon he was asleep, but from that point on he didn’t seem to care about anyone or the village anymore. Evidently since he couldn’t work or have fun as much anymore he developed low self esteem and negativity.
Even though he couldn’t help with the daily chores any longer he was always given more than enough to suit his needs. He soon began hoarding items and food, hiding them away from everyone else. As time went on he developed a close friendship with one of the lazier males of the village called Fense and his hoarding was becoming an obsession.
Eventually De wasn’t able to move about so much anymore and he needed help, he needed favor from his friend Fense, so he decided to give the village a protector to protect them from the beasts and such he told them he had seen in the woods. He then appointed his friend Fense as the protector so the village decided to call the new protector Defense.
De wanted more food and items to add to his hoard so he began asking for stuff from the other members of the village. Sometimes they didn’t have enough or just didn’t want to give. So De got in the habit of carrying a big walking stick with him to intimidate the members of the village when he would make the rounds to collect the items and food he was now demanding. Then he began sending Defense to collect the items to suggest that the items were for protection of the village.
The village decided to rename De to Despot. Because as with the spot that gets on the clothing they were finding it hard to get rid of him and his friend Defense.
Despot’s wife and children became quite accustomed to the extra food and stuff. The children soon placed themselves above the other children and started demanding their own extra food and privilege.
Defense and his family and friends were allowed to take as much of the collected goodies as he wanted, as long as he continued with the collections. He even added junior Defenses to protect the village.
The demands on the village grew partly because the Defense and Despot families were growing but also because the Despot family learned that the less food and supplies the villagers had the easier they were to manage and get more food and supplies from.
As the village grew quite large it was divided into smaller villages each with their own minions of Despot complete with minions of Defense and while the village grew so did the need for more extra food and such which was now called dues to the main village. Later to be disguised and called taxes to be paid for fair redistribution in services and for defense of the villages.
As the different villages started realizing that there was no or very little return from the main village for the dues or taxes paid they started trying not to pay the dues or taxes. Then Defense and his gangs of Defense minions would first sabotage the village and then attack them, stealing children and women.
So you see as this representation shows, the problem of lazy mentally ill people appointing themselves rulers has been with us for a very long time. Any once they learned how to prey on the rest of us they never stopped.
Bottom Line, it all depends on how diligent a society is at watching what is happening in their society and then taking action to stop bad behavior. And how many morally bankrupt people they can get to join them as minions.
God Bless
Be Peace
