The March toward Slavery and the End of Public Spaces

Profits over people

As I watch the Police attack citizens of the United States with armed forces and chemical weapons because they are trying to use their public spaces to meet, camp, organize and educate communities in order to do some very important public problem solving. It becomes obvious that the public has had its public spaces wholly confiscated or entwined with rules and laws made by a few without the consent of the public.

In all great societies there must be a place like a Town Square where people can meet, debate and decide community issues. Its use must be unencumbered by rules and laws of any sort as to serve the public freely and at the publics' discretion. Can you imagine what the homeless issue would now be if the homeless were allowed to actually sleep in the public square, thus notifying the public that there is a problem instead of being forced to hide away somewhere.

The removing of or consideration of the results to the people of our nation when deciding laws and rules all but Zombifies the entire process, making laws for people without considering the results to the people themselves or their society as a whole equals Zombie Government.

An example is parks, consider the fact that one of the reasons for those laws is to make sure the public is not wholly aware of the homeless problem, by harassing and abusing the homeless to the extent of telling them they must disappear, find a bush or bridge to try and sleep under. Which displaces the entire homeless issue from public view? Preventing millions of talented people, many who would be glad to work on projects to solve the homelessness issue, from even knowing there is a critical issue? That is a ruthless result my friends.

It seems that in the great scheme of things the "modern" designers see no need for public spaces which allow people to congregate and do democratic work. Not to mention that the selling of public spaces to private individuals without the publics actual VOTE and consent is dishonest and commonly illegal.

Besides that, the fact that the current designs, rules and laws applied to us all by city planners results in "allowing" us to basically drive to our hamster wheel and drive home.

This degrades and destroys the entire idea of a republic and its democratic processes. A Democracy can only be a Democracy and a Republic if the people are allowed to freely assemble at their will and on their terms. That is what a Republic is, that is what a Democracy is.

We must ask ourselves why the public officials allowing/ordering these attacks on our people. And what is it about the Democratic process that our public officials have a problem with? Especially considering that our elders and their elders paid for those public spaces in one form or another so that we would have public meeting spaces.

Is That what Democracy looks like?
