Does USA have a government by the people for the people or do we just have lobbyists holding public office and getting paychecks and huge benefits by the people to be their representatives?

A government is an institution designed to protect the public welfare of a nation and all of it's citizens, including prohibiting abuses caused by business, criminal organizations, cults or secret societies. When a government becomes a part of or becomes a business, criminal organization, cult or secret society the citizens have an inherent duty, obligation and right to protect all of it's citizen's, families, children and livelihoods.

In 2011: A lobbyist is a person who tries to influence legislation on behalf of corporations, special interest or a member of a lobby regardless of the results it will have on humanity or society.

Let's please cut the crap (and leave our game theories, for a moment, where they belong, on the parlor table) we are helping promote murder and mayhem globally.
The actual cause is sociopathic lack of moral and social responsibility by the banking industry and their corporate lackeys combined with the gullibility of the electorates and the public when they bought into the created illusions and formulas invented by the sociopaths to instill fear into the masses so they could sell us the lie that government equals corporation and should be managed the same so that they could control the only threat to the successful commission of their crimes. Or as one freshly minted MBA/Attorney (minted by a corporate controlled college or university financed by the US or a State government) told me one day, "It's our job to steal, it's your job to catch and stop us." So they simply nullified, removed the power of the regulators.
Are you proud to be an American? I am, but I barfed my guts out when I found out that we just innilated a sovereign nation that had a strong economy, free education, free health care and seed money for every citizen/graduate instead of debt slavery to get them started in their lives.
It is time we stop removing accountability.

Well let's see. Every day the people of the United States create through their labors billions of dollars for our elected officials to use to manage our nation.

What did we get for our time our labor and for being citizens of the United States of America?

1. We have 70% plus of our food now laced with non-natural ingredients.
2. We have a jail for profit system.
3. We are being blamed for thousands of deaths a day in foreign countries via war.
4. It is becoming harder and harder for businesses to do business across borders because we are no longer trusted as much as we used to be.
5. We have forced monopolies by seed companies that also put at least a farmer a day our of business.
6. We have reports of police abuse our citizens daily.

Victimless Crimes? Some Facts: Isn't it interesting that regardless of the Rhetoric of both Citizens United RE:v. Federal Election Commission or The Corporate Tea Party, the real resulting message seems to be "We want it our way, even if we have to take it from you"! Including YOUR LIFE!
  At least 125 people every day die in the USA as a result of not being able to afford health care, over 290 a day die as a result of Doctor prescribed drug reactions. Heading our nation and possibly the world straight toward the evils of their own private Oligarchy or Plutocracy.

7. We have the ability to vote on even the smallest bond issues and other local issues in our own communities, but the Replicrats won't allow it because they will lose control.
8. We are being blamed for the financial meltdown of the global economic system, even the biggest countries are calling us parasites.
9. We have, evidently, an electorate of lawmakers that have been completely conned by the lobbyists.
10. We have swat teams attacking natural food stores and destroying all the inventories.
11. We are being told that we are to stupid to understand what's going on, even though every day hundreds of thousands of people logon to the internet and go to libraries and seek information regarding truth, justice and remedy to our dilemma of being controlled by people that never produced a product or service and at the same time sell products they never even had.
12. We allowed morally bankrupt and dishonest businesspeople to lie, cheat and steal from foreign companies and countries then we protect them with our police and judicial system.
