A Prayer for Aretha Franklin

Getting an Award from Dr. Martin Luther King

Dear God I am on my knees begging forgiveness from Aretha Franklin who empowered and enlightened hundreds of millions of people in her life.

Many say that music is a pathway to the soul and Aretha proved that to us all time and again.

I am sad and so sorry that her funeral and celebration of life, an event that should have also been filled with happiness, positivity and love was turned into a political pulpit for those who evidently have a lack of faith and needed to vent some personal feelings.

I do know that your life was a life that was lived grandly and delivered a result that was several rungs higher than the respect that you were given!

Please forgive us!

God Bless You and Thank You for all you brought to our lives amidst the trials and tribulations we all go through in our lives.
