Heartbreak: Letting Go of Toxic People

January 17, 2019

By far one of the most disconcerting aspects of being a Christian. With our duty to help those in trouble or need, is the seeming growth of the number of toxic people.
Many or most are just ignorant, unfulfilled, sad or miserable and rather than deal with the issues in their own lives they choose to spread their misery and unnecessarily, bring pain or suffering to others.
Some are so far gone they don’t even know they are hurting others and working to drive us all down.
Nothing new right? Well something has changed.
There are many ways to help others, from donating money to jumping in the pit with the donkey to pull them out.
Being one that sees the wisdom gained by walking in their shoes I sometimes get too caring and too close.
Then I wake up only to realize that I was all along their prey.
With as many decades as I have been in brotherhood with all you would think I would know better.
But, even knowing there is no such thing as an excuse I must confess, I got tricked.
The extreme sadist and predatory nature of this new modern pathology is, for me the most cunning of creatures I have ever learned about or encountered.
One thing that has not changed over time is that we must be careful not to martyr ourselves, in the name of Jesus, kindness or brotherhood into the abyss they created or chose and want to suck us into.
Caring and Loving can be hard.
Sometimes resulting in three heartbreaks at once.

  1. Waking up to realize that they have been systematically deceiving you and or using you for basically their entertainment or to prey on you for other reasons.
  2. That they are total sadistic deviants of anything that can be considered brothers or sisters in the brotherhood of humanity.
  3. Our or the failure of losing someone to evil or not being able to show them the magnificence of justice, honor, integrity, kindness and brotherhood.

Then comes the most scary of questions.
Is our society creating this new set of personality traits?
I will leave the answer to that question for another time.
Back to the original subject.
Please don’t martyr yourself to sadism and sadistic people. No matter how slick, cunning or smiley they are.
You belong to God and do have an obligation to yourself and your creator.

You are magnificent!
God Bless, Be Peace and Be Well.
